What do you mean by 'just for fun'?

We mean it literally. Why Are You Angry Today? is a silly, low-stakes corner of the internet for venting about everyday stuff — slow walkers, soggy cereal, the group chat, your boss, your flatmate. It's not therapy, it's not a wellness app, and it's not trying to fix you. It's a place to type out a rant, see other people's rants, and feel a little lighter. That's the whole pitch.

What happens to my story after I submit it?

Three things. (1) It lands in our inbox, where a human on our team reads it. (2) We pick a small handful each week to share — under your alias only — on TikTok, Instagram (@whyareyouangrytoday), the podcast, or this site. We may lightly edit for length or to remove anything that could identify someone else, but we never change the meaning. (3) Most submissions are not published, and that's fine — sometimes saying it out loud is the whole point.

Will I know if my story gets shared?

Only if you gave us your email (it's optional). If you did, we may drop you a line when your story goes out. If you didn't, no problem — keep an eye on @whyareyouangrytoday on TikTok and Instagram.

Can I take my story down later?

Accepted Answer

Yes, anytime. Email hey@whyareyouangrytoday.com with your alias and a quick description, and we'll remove it from the site and our socials. No questions, no guilt.

Is it really anonymous?

Accepted Answer

Yes. By default, the only thing the world ever sees is the alias you typed in. We never publish your real name, email, IP, or social handle. The single exception is if you explicitly tick the 'tag my handle' box — and even then, only on the platform you choose.

Why do you ask for an email?

Email is completely optional. We use it for two things: to come back to you if we'd like to feature your story prominently, and to send the occasional vent digest if you opt in. We never sell email addresses, and we never share them with brands.

Can people figure out it was me?

Accepted Answer

Not from us. We strip anything that could identify you — and if your story mentions a third party by name, we'll edit that out before sharing. If you're worried, write the story in a way you'd be comfortable telling a stranger on a bus.

Do you store my data forever?

No. Submissions live in our system only as long as we need them to share, follow up, or improve the experience. You can ask us to delete yours at any time — see the Privacy page for the full breakdown.

Where will my story be shared?

Stories may appear on our TikTok and Instagram (@whyareyouangrytoday), our podcast, or right here on the site — always under your alias. We pick a small handful each week; not every submission goes out, and that's okay.

What kind of stories do you actually want?

All of them. The petty (slow walkers, soggy cereal, the group chat that won't die). The everyday (bad bosses, family drama, exhausted parenting). And the heavy (grief, injustice, burnout, heartbreak). If it's making you angry today, it counts.

Can I have my story removed after it's shared?

Yes — always. Email stories@whyareyouangrytoday.com with your alias and a short description, and we'll take it down across all platforms. No questions, no guilt-tripping.

Will you edit what I wrote?

Accepted Answer

Only lightly — for length, clarity, or to remove anything that could identify someone else. We never change the meaning of your story or invent quotes you didn't say.

Is this a mental health service?

No, and we won't pretend to be. We're a community space — a place to feel seen and a little less alone. If you're struggling, please reach out to a qualified professional or a crisis line in your country. We list a few on the Contact page.

How do you keep it from getting nasty?

We read every story before it goes out, and we don't share anything that's hateful, doxxes someone, or punches down. Comments on our socials get the same treatment. No pile-ons, no dunk culture.

Can I share my story without it going public?

Absolutely. Lots of people just want to say it out loud and have someone read it. Submitting doesn't mean you've signed up to be featured — only a small portion of vents make it to TikTok or the podcast.
